It is a very busy time for Sheldrake for Ukraine Refugees, Inc. In the past six months, we have helped five refugees relocate from Ukraine to Boca Raton, FL USA. Presently we are working to obtain USCIS approval for another family of five.
You ask, “what does it cost to bring a family and how much to support”? The question is simple, the answer is complex. After Homeland Security / USCIS approval, then travel from Ukraine to USA. The airline ticket, for a family of three $2,585.00 (from Poland). To provide housing, a one bedroom apartment $2,200.00 per month, a three bedroom house $ 3,750.00 per month. Utilities, groceries, incidentals approx. $ 1,170.00 per month. So the monthly support ranges from $3,370.00 to $4,920.00 per month. The medical and dental services are provided by the generosity of a few professional friends, who are members of my Saint Joan of Arc Catholic Church and neighboring Temple Beth El, here in Boca Raton. Recently a new insurance program provides medical and dental coverage through a network of providers, a significant benefit.
Here is one story about a 6 year old. She and her parents are temporarily in one of the apartments here in Boca. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/a-6-year-old-ukrainian-girl-lost-an-eye-how-a-u-s-aid-group-stepped-in-to-help/ar-AA1cohXS?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=f2df8096b74a418b9450771129501d78&ei=27As of this writing, there are 33 souls under Sheldrake for Ukraine Refugees, Inc.
